Working for Jesus

- By Ric White

For the men of Creative Ink Printing, True Freedom’s accredited apprenticeship program at Grafton Reintegration Center, Family Day was filled with unimaginable joy. This event, sponsored by True Freedom, was a celebration of those who have completed the 4000-hour curriculum to become Journeymen Screen Printers. Participating inmates were thrilled to share a meal with family members, in some cases tearfully and for the first time in 35 years. The food was excellently prepared by the executive chef of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries, along with Chopping-For-A-Change students from Northeast Reintegration Center. True Freedom staff member Bill Holko opened the event with prayer.

Most special of all was the unveiling of the True Freedom Ministries Gary Koly Print Room, where the late chaplain taught many Bible studies to the men of Grafton. Here family members learned the printing process and then printed their own T-shirts with the help of their loved ones. The smiles could not be measured! A graduate of the program read one of the wall plaques aloud, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24). A current apprentice responded, “That’s the way we roll in this shop, we work for Jesus, not for men!”

Would you prayerfully consider making a one-time end of the year or monthly donation to support True Freedom Ministries for 2023?
