Repurposed
/True Freedom sponsored a unique event at Grafton Correctional in conjunction with the inmate-led group called Going Home to Stay. The morning started off with a worship service. Michael Swiger shared an encouraging message of hope accompanied by the musical group Renovare. Participants enjoyed a lunch of grilled chicken, hamburgers, potato salad, and cake. In the afternoon, festivities included games, music, cornhole competition, and a hole-in-one contest, complete with prizes.
To attend the extravaganza, men had to donate a new clothing or hygiene item purchased through the institution commissary. Over $500 worth of donated items were collected. These will be distributed by True Freedom’s homeless ministry at 2100 Lakeside men’s shelter with the help of a group of minimum-security inmates under the direct supervision of Warden Foley, who explains, “These are repurposed items from repurposed lives, forever changed by the work of True Freedom.” Praise the Lord!
