Ephesians Bible Study at GRC

Starting in October of 2021, Bill Holko led a Bible study through the book of Ephesians for 12 inmates at Grafton Reintegration Center. The study, organized around John Stott’s, “Ephesians: Building a Community in Christ,” consisted of 13 lessons. All but two sessions were covered when GRC closed again, due to COVID. By God’s grace, Grafton re-opened about one month later, and the study was completed. Bill shares that he “thoroughly enjoyed facilitating this study. The men who attended are well-versed in the Bible, were prepared each week, and contributed significantly to deep and insightful conversation related to the Biblical text.” Here are some inmates’ responses:

“I’m very grateful to have studied the book of Ephesians through True Freedom, with brother Bill H. and the group of men whom the Spirit of God selected. I have become encouraged, motivated, and challenged to become more aggressive in mind, in faith, and in spiritual warfare for my family, children, and my brothers and sisters in Christ as they develop in the land. We need more of these types of study groups.” -Brother C. Colbert

“This Bible study of the book of Ephesians was so rich and gave me specific instruction to follow for my daily living as a Christian and follower of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I learned to stand firm on what I believe and to seek the fulfillment of every single promise that is mentioned for my life. Also, my brother in Christ, Mr. Bill Holko, is a humble servant of the Lord. He’s got a great passion for knowing and teaching the Word of God. It was a great privilege to be part of this Bible study. I am more than grateful.” -Jesus A. Ruiz

“The Ephesians study, mentored by Bill Holko, like other programs given to his charge, fulfilled my expectations. I was convicted to love, respect, pray, humble myself, and witness more to those who cross my path daily, while standing firm on the foundation of God’s Word on which the entire church rests. Due to the uplifting and soul-stirring nature of these programs, and more to the point, the gentle, God-inspired direction of Mr. Holko, Ephesians will not be the last program from True Freedom Ministries I’ll take at the Grafton Reintegration Center. Thank you and may God bless you.” -Charles White

“The discussions of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians were powerful in that the letter was also written to us, to me. I have been shown the way to work, to live, as one with my Christian brothers and sisters. We are a community in Christ. We must live as one, treat others as we would want to be treated, and, most of all, to always praise God for his works in and for us.” -Jeffrey Deel

Please join us in praying that the truth of Ephesians will come to full fruition in the lives of these precious men.
