Redemption at Lynk Packaging
/By Maxine Lowe, Director of Reentry Employment
True Freedom and Prospera Reentry are grateful for our ongoing relationship with Y-Haven, an organization that serves the addicted and provides temporary housing for the homeless and those released from incarceration. It is our privilege to secure employment for many of Y-Haven’s clients.
Currently, five men from Y-Haven work at Lynk Packaging, a manufacturing organization that creates innovative packaging designs that are environmentally responsible and economically feasible. Learning a new skill set on the job is an important part of the recovery process for our clients. Every week Maxine Lowe meets with this group to discuss their current situation, provide Christian council, and create action plans to help them reach their goals. Topics include credit repair, mental health assessments via community partners, and addiction recovery. Best of all, the men in this program have professed their love for God. Each has given his life to Christ and begun attending weekly virtual Bible studies to strengthen his relationship with God.
When asked, “What does True Freedom mean to you?” clients gave the following responses:
“I’m so grateful to have the great support from True Freedom. I’ve never had anyone supporting me like this, and it feels so good to hear that you’re always praying for me. It means a lot to me, more than you know.” - Byon
“I see the changes in my life since I’ve joined the program. I know it’s not going to be easy, but with the support of True Freedom, I believe I can beat the addiction and get closer to God, which is what I’ve always needed.” - Mikel
“I was just released from prison and didn’t know what I was going to do. I went to church and was immediately referred to True Freedom. True Freedom helped me get a job and work with my caseworker to help me find housing. Without True Freedom, I don’t know where I would be. I’ve been telling everyone in the shelter about God and how True Freedom has helped me. A few men are coming with me to church on Sunday because of it.”-Joseph
Brad Davis, Production Manager from Lynk states, “Everything True Freedom is doing with their clients is excellent. They’re assisting individuals in reintegrating into society the right way by providing them with not only the guidance needed but authentic resources for overall healing. I enjoy being a part of the process, as I see the employees evolve into responsible, accountable, hardworking citizens of our communities.”
True Freedom greatly appreciates the support of our partners whose generosity allows us to serve these men. Please pray for our clients to continue to, “Press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 3:14
