Pointing Young People to Jesus

On March 1st, we were thrilled to be invited back into the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Justice Center. True Freedom has reestablished its regular presence in this facility through two of our chaplains, Pastor Dr. Jimmie Smith and Mark Stradiot. Chaplain Smith spends much of his time in crisis counseling, often helping gang members work through stories of deep brokenness. This one-on-one context provides amazing opportunities to answer the need of each heart with the beautiful message of God’s love for us in Jesus Christ. Chaplain Smith conducts approximately nine counseling sessions each week. We praise God that three young men he spoke to in April professed faith in Christ. As of Tuesday, April 13, Mark Stradiot was back, in person, at the Juvenile Justice Center. Chaplain Stradiot is working toward having a presence in all 4 of the male “houses” in the facility. His plan is to hold mini services for the boys. He has been privileged to speak with several young men already and to share

the gospel with them. Chaplain Stradiot has also distributed New Testaments and

other literature. In addition, he has been able to pray and even play the guitar and

sing inside the JJC! Please pray for our Chaplains and the youth in the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Justice Center. May God soften hearts and open eyes to see that His lovingkindness is truly better than life. Thank you, partners, for supporting True Freedom as we step back into this amazing opportunity to point young people to Jesus.

Would you prayerfully consider making a monthly or one-time gift to help us meet and fulfill the mission to which God has called us?
