True Freedom's Two Prong Approach to Juvenile Prison Ministry

The Juvenile Criminal Justice System mirrors that of the adult system: there is a detention facility where minors are held waiting to go to court for their alleged offenses (the equivalent to the county jail) and the Juvenile Prison where offenders who are found guilty are sent to serve their time.

When these young men and women enter either of these facilities they are in a time of crises, and True Freedom is there to reach them with the Gospel.

The Juvenile Prison Ministry is directed by Don Keller (far left in the picture, along with volunteers George Elam, Pastor Mark Stradiot, Don Tallidino) a multi-year veteran of prison ministry.  He and his team of volunteers weekly visit the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center in the inner-city Cleveland, going into the housing units and meeting in small groups.  These frightened and often abused youngsters need a hug, they need hope, and they need the loving message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
