“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16

True Freedom Prison Ministry is working to fulfill the Great Commission, to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We seek to reach those incarcerated all across the state of Ohio and their families with the message of Good News found only in Jesus Christ.

Transformation in Christ is a first step to helping prisoners turn their lives around. Statistics show that 95% of prisoners will eventually be released back into society. Unfortunately,  75% of the ex-offenders will be unemployed one year after their release, and a large number of these former prisoners will be re-arrested within three years of their release. True Freedom Prison Ministry firmly believes that there are four keys to successful reintegration:

  • Genuine transformation in Christ

  • Discipleship and mentorship

  • Pre-release skills training and education

  • Post-release training, support and accountability

True Freedom Prison Ministry is collaborating with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, other nonprofit organizations, and public groups to rehabilitate those incarcerated and to prepare them for successful reintegration. These efforts are creating a culture change within the prison system, changing hearts and minds of those we touch and creating a climate that contributes to the development of pro-social values and behaviors which are tangible and sustainable through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The cornerstone of the rehabilitation process is individuals accepting personal responsibility for their actions, and their commitment to life-affirming change found only in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. With a foundation of faith, prisoners can take advantage of educational opportunities and prepare themselves for reentry. This multi-faceted approach prepares former prisoners for their return to society in so many ways.   They are better equipped to have loving relationships within their families, and to be productive members of their communities and society.
